A culture of safety

A culture of safety

There are many images that one conjures up when we hear the phrase – “Work Smarter, Not Harder”. One that should come to mind should be how we can be careful and methodical in our tasks in order to accomplish our goals with the least amount of sacrifice. The sacrifice could be time, effort, materials, or our own safety.

Modern luggage comes to mind when I think about travel. The steamer trunks of old have been replaced with modern carry-on bags and luggage of all sizes and shapes with wheels. Without the porter to carry our bags we have finally gotten smarter. Online banking could be another method of working smarter.

We should use this mindset in our everyday lives and at work if we are to get the most of our time and efforts. This is why I am advocate for planning my days. Do you plan your days? I build in time for the news and weather, meals, checking e-mail and social media streams, work time, chores at home, and even plan my reading and writing time.

That’s enough on the subject for now, but I wanted to give you a taste of more to come on the subject.

Until next time.
