Writer for Hire
Writer for Hire
Lately I’ve become a writer for hire. I enjoy writing and have enjoyed good feedback thus far as I have a conversational writing style. My specialty at this point is content writing and B2B, with some B2C (that’s Business to Business and Business to Customer) and I have been successful lately writing for EMS journals (EMS World) and am looking to expand into outdoor magazines such as Outdoor Life and Backpacker. I’m also looking to expand into financial services magazines.
I have a varied life experience, with lots of personal experience in scouting, backpacking, camping and hiking as well as EMS, rescue, and financial services as I hold many certifications and licenses in these areas. It is also in these areas that I’ve had the opportunity and/or duty to write about things for Boy Scouts of America, the Journal of Emergency Medical Services, EMS World, and I wrote a simple e-book as a give away for new clients on systematic investing as a financial consultant.
At the age of 16, I joined our local rescue squad as a junior member and had an EMT license by the time I was 18. I continued on to paramedic school and had that license by the time I was 21. Our county ambulance service hired me on full time just before graduation. I spent many years working for them and served as public affairs officer for the last 5-7 years I worked
After my first son was born I began looking for a new job that would allow me to spend more time with my family. In 1999 I began working as an EMS Consultant for the Tennessee Department of Health. My time there allowed me to gain certifications in Investigation, Inspection, Interviewing and Interrogation, and multiple certifications in Emergency Management, Incident Command, emergency operations. After the terror attacks of
The chaos that followed hurricane Katrina and its aftermath in Louisiana flowed over into our state with evacuee and refugee flights into our major airports, we were tasked with organizing ambulances to access the people and transport them as needed to hospitals or they would be diverted to shelters established in the area. This led to me writing a white paper on Ambulance Strike Teams for our director. It was accepted great accolades and I was asked to write our Ambulance Strike Team guidelines. That document was also well received with a few minor tweaks.
These experiences led me into writing more reports, white papers, and presentations and I’ve been asked to speak at a few regional conferences and clubs. One of which was on emergency communications with our local amateur radio group (I am also a licensed ham radio operator – general class.) where we oriented them on our potential needs and expectations from the emergency operations center and interfacing with hospital groups.
My last writing assignments have led me to Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee. I was able to experience a mass campout and music festival that was beyond my expectations. My family and I were well received and allowed to pursue an in depth view and experience as both the workers and attendees shared there insights with us. I’m planning to possibly draft a book on the festival as a guide for “Bonnaroovians”.
CZYK Publishing has contracted with me to write a tourism guide for my home area, which I’m excited about and should have back to them within a few months as well. I love to travel and look forward to sharing my knowledge and insights with the readers of the book. Hopefully I’ll be able to continue on this path write more for travel magazines or another travel guide company.
I’m good to work with if you have any questions or would like me to work on anything you may be looking to hire a writer for. I enjoy writing for hire and believe I can write with subject matter and search engine optimization that will please you and your clients.
Until next time,
